“The YMCA is a different kind of club, altogether, with significantly different goals than your standard gym. This is important to note, because while there are many similarities between what the YMCA offers and what Boost and Worcester Fitness offer, it is equally unfair to paint both using the same brush. Where fitness clubs generally hold health and fitness to be the most critical component of what they offer, the YMCA tends to focus more of its energy on community building. Additionally, unlike most fitness centers that are private businesses, the YMCA is a world-wide nonprofit organization.”
National Grid Donation
The National Grid Foundation has given $15,000 to the YMCA of Central Massachusetts to benefit the Y’s Minority Achievers Program, which reaches out to high school students to promote access and opportunity for urban youths to attend post-secondary educational institutions.

Kids of all ages enjoyed the fun and educational 12th annual Children’s Festival of Holidays, which was free and open to the community Dec. 13 at the Boroughs Family Branch YMCA.

Celebrate The Survivors
On November 12, 2014 in the Atrium of St. Vincent Hospital, the YMCA of Central Massachusetts held an evening of inspiration in support of the LIVESTRONG® at the Y Program.
The Emcee and Special Guest was Joyce Kulhawik
( Emmy Award-Winning Arts & Entertainment Critic / 3X Cancer Survivor / JoycesChoices.com ).
The fundraising event included stories from cancer survivors, their friends, and families. A raffle include various technology and entertainment prizes.
Harvest Home Festival and 5K
Patrick Rosendale finished first at Community Harvest Project 5K road race at Brigham Hill Community Farm with a time of 21:38.
Patrick is a Site Coordinator for the Boroughs Family Branch YMCA After School Program.
